Thank you for a well written piece on this disorder. My ex told me in couples therapy that he asked me out because this other guy he was rivals with was showing interest in me and didn’t want that guy to get me. So it was about him winning not about wanting to get to know me. If I’d only seen it all back then, but covert narcissism is tough to spot.
