Reading this stings a bit because it feels like my ex could’ve written it. I only wanted alimony for a few years to get myself on my feet. I didn’t want to be tied to him financially and my kids are grown so that part is different. But for the last few years one could argue I was putting in time. I was far to scared of how I was ever going to be able to support myself to leave. And I guess towards the end, he was just putting in time too. We’d both checked out.
