I discovered Medium on the heels of my divorce. Cracked, wounded, and messy, I used this platform to unload all the pain I’d stuffed for years. Hurts that needed healing. Confessions that needed light.

I created a pen name so the raw and honest truths I wanted to share wouldn’t be connected to the people I wrote about. The pen name allowed me to be vulnerable while still having a protective cover.

Some of the early stuff I wrote landed with readers and many expressed gratitude for my words. Those same stories also drew spiteful comments. Reading those angry words stung but they didn’t deter me. I knew the intention behind my stories came from the need to heal myself so kept my focus aligned with that purpose. I stayed the course.

I came here to birth my stories but soon discovered Medium is so much more than a place to write. A vibrant community of people populate the streets of Medium.

Fellow life travelers contribute their unique voices within these walls. A host of colorful characters pack the pubs of this online neighborhood.
