I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve thought about emailing Medium for a long time to ask if it’s ever considered paying pub editors. Sometimes we’re inundated with submissions or I do a boatload of work to edit one and as much as I enjoy helping someone improve a story, all of this eats up the time I have available to write. For this reason, I’ve been thinking lately about no longer editing for one of the pubs. It can be a lot of work for zero dollars. I applied to be a booster nominator and was rejected so that incentive isn’t there for me.

I applaud you for writing this, Robbie. I hope it gets lots of reads and comments along with the attention of staff at Medium.
