I couldn't agree more! There are times when I think my friends on Medium know me better than my local friends--in fact I'm pretty sure that's the case. And I feel a deep kinship to those I read an follow here--like I know them better than my local friends as well. As you mention, writing seems to open us up and cement that bond.
