Hot damn, our lives are so similar! Not quite the same in that my ex never yelled. He perfected the art of passive aggressiveness. But he did wield the power like yours and I kept quiet to keep the peace. Oof. It's a relief to be free from all that. And my kids didn't hate me. They cheered me on.
